How these skills connect
Babies first listen and then start making sounds. When we see toddlers they use short words, then longer phrases. However, preschoolers start learn grammar, social rules and storytelling. And older children start thinking, learning and problem-solving. Listening is the base and speaking grow afterwards.
These skills can develop through reading daily books, singing songs and rhymes, spending time with family, speak and listen native language, talk more and more with adults etc.
